Do you know of an application where galvanic corrosion could be devastating in an installation? To combat this problem, Sealcon now offers Hummel's Zinc Nickel Plated Brass Strain Relief Fitting. A Nickel Plated Brass (NPB) Strain Relief Fitting installed in an Aluminum Enclosure or Aluminum Panel exposed to the environment may eventually break down. An electro-chemical reaction takes place between a Nickel Plated part and Aluminum. Aluminum will corrode and most likely cause leakage. A Zinc Nickel Plated solution is much more corrosion resistant than a Nickel Plated Brass solution, especially in salt air (coastal) markets.

In most cases, our standard NPB Strain Relief Fitting will suffice. The Stainless Steel is the most expensive alternative, however corrosion resistant and rugged. The HSK-Diamond is somewhere in between but really a nice and economical solution for harsh environments. The HSK-Diamond costs about 2.5 times more than a standard NPB Strain Relief Fitting, which is still a huge savings compared to INOX (Stainless Steel 303) Fittings, which cost about 7 times as much as a NPB fitting.
